UnitIBICoffers professional support for manufacturers, importers, and distributors of construction products thatare not covered by harmonized standards (hEN)and cannot be marked with the CE mark.
For such products, thenational system for assessing and verifying the constancy of performance properties, concluded with the issuance ofthe National Declaration of Performance Properties (KDWU)and marking withthe construction sign B.

IBIC supports manufacturers at every stage of preparing the product for legal market introduction.

🔧Which products require marking with sign B?

Sign B is applied to products:

• not covered by EU harmonization (no harmonized standard hEN),

• that do not have EAD/ETA,

• intended for permanent incorporation into a building or its surroundings,

• such as, among others:

  • elements of small architecture,

  • steel and structural elements not included in EN 1090,

  • fences, gates, posts, stands, railings,

  • road and parking products,

  • prefabricated elements and atypical construction elements.

🎯Scope of IBIC services – sign B

1. Product classification

We help correctly classify the product as a construction product according to:

• the Construction Products Act,

• regulation on declaring performance properties.

2. Analysis of technical specifications and legal requirements

We indicate which documents and standards should be applied:

• national standards (PN),

• reference documents,

• minimum requirements for the product.

3. Testing of the product's performance properties

We conduct tests according to the scope defined in KDWU, including:

• strength tests,

• stability tests,

• structural measurements,

• tests of anti-corrosive coatings,

• tests of resistance to environmental factors (e.g. ISO 9227).

Tests can be performed by an unaccredited unit – which is legal in the case of national assessment systems.

4. Technical report / technical opinion

We prepare a report that serves as the basis for issuing KDWU.
The document includes:

• test results,

• assessment of compliance with technical requirements,

• conclusions and confirmation of performance properties.

5. Preparation of KDWU – National Declaration of Performance Properties

We develop a complete declaration, which the manufacturer signs and attaches to the product.

6. Marking with the national construction sign B

We prepare:

• a template for marking B (label/plaque),

• instructions for correct marking,

• content of markings in accordance with the law.

7. Complete documentation package

We create a full set of documents required for bringing the product to market:

• technical documentation,

• production control program,

• test reports,

• KDWU,

• marking templates.
