PRODUCT CERTIFICATION IN OUR UNIT IS CONDUCTED ACCORDING TO AN ESTABLISHED

SET OF PROCEDURES.

This enables us to determine whether a product meets current regulatory requirements

and to confirm its conformity by issuing an official certificate.

The issued certificate serves as independent confirmation that the certified product

is safe, reliable, and approved for use in public spaces.

.

The certification process follows the subsequent order:

  • Submission of the application and signing of the certification contract,

  • Product evaluation,

  • Testing or inspection of market samples (depending on the selected certification program),

  • Testing and inspection of product batches or lots (depending on the selected certification program),

  • Production control and assessment of manufacturing conditions (where required by the certification program),

  • Certification decision and issuance of the certificate,

  • Post-certification surveillance of the certified product.

Standards and Normative Documents on the basis of which we conduct certification:

The EN 1176 standard refers to the European safety standards for playground equipment and playground surfaces. It is a comprehensive set of requirements designed to ensure the safety of users—primarily children—who use playground areas.

The standard defines safety criteria covering the design, manufacturing, installation, inspection, maintenance, and operation of playgrounds. EN 1176 is divided into multiple parts, with each section addressing specific safety aspects, including equipment types, structural integrity, spacing, impact protection, accessibility, and long-term safety management.

EN 1176 – Playground Equipment and Surfaces

Introduction

  • The EN 1176 standard was developed by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN).
  • The purpose of this standard is to ensure children’s safety on playgrounds by defining requirements for the design, manufacturing, installation, inspection, maintenance, and safe use of playground equipment.

Structure of the EN 1176 standard

  • EN 1176-1: General safety requirements

    • Contains basic safety requirements for all types of playground equipment.

  • EN 1176-2: Swings

    • Specifies detailed requirements for swings, including construction, materials, and installation.

  • EN 1176-3: Slides

    • Describes requirements for various types of slides to ensure their safe use.

  • EN 1176-4: Cableways

    • Concerns cableway devices used on playgrounds.

  • EN 1176-5: Merry-go-rounds

    • Presents requirements for merry-go-rounds, considering their construction and safe usage.

  • EN 1176-6: Training Equipment

    • Includes equipment used for exercises and physical activities for children.

  • EN 1176-7: Guidelines for installation, inspection, maintenance, and use

    • Contains recommendations for proper installation, regular inspections, maintenance, and use of playground equipment.

  • EN 1176-10: Additional requirements for fully enclosed play structures

    • Concerns fully enclosed structures, such as tunnels and enclosed towers.

Key Safety Requirements

  • Materials and Construction: Must be durable, non-injurious, and adequately protected against corrosion.

  • Surfaces: Should be smooth, without sharp edges, to prevent injuries.

  • Space Around Equipment: Must be large enough to ensure safe use and accessibility.

  • Regular Inspections: Regular checks of the technical condition of the equipment and its maintenance are necessary.

  • User Instructions: Clear instructions and rules for using the equipment should be available.
