Management systems
ISO 14001 is an international standard for environmental management that specifies requirements
for an effective environmental management system in an organization. ISO 14001 certification
confirms that the company meets these requirements and has an effective environmental management system.
The ISO 14001 certification process typically involves several steps:
Preliminary assessment: The company evaluates its current environmental management practices and identifies areas that need improvement to meet ISO 14001 requirements.
Documentation preparation: The company prepares documentation regarding its environmental management system, including the environmental policy,
procedures, instructions, and action plans.
Implementation: The company implements a designed environmental management system and conducts activities aimed at achieving environmental goals.
Internal audit: The company conducts an internal audit to assess the effectiveness of its environmental management system and identify areas for further improvement.
External audit: The company engages an independent certification organization that conducts an external audit to assess whether the company meets the ISO 14001 requirements. If the company receives a positive audit result, it is awarded the ISO 14001 certificate.
ISO 14001 certification is voluntary and demonstrates the company's commitment to environmental protection, effective management of natural resources, and minimizing negative environmental impact. This certificate can enhance the company's credibility in the eyes of customers, business partners, and the local community, as well as help meet environmental bidding and regulatory requirements.
